Here are some assorted drawings by Benedict from the Thirties and Forties, posted in chronological order. The first drawing from 1936 distinctly shows the influence that illustrator Russell Patterson had on Ed's work. In the two cartoony girl drawings, Ed says he was influenced by cartoonist Roy Nelson.
